Road Repaving Planned for Santa Catalina Estates in Fiscal Year 2027

Good news for Santa Catalina Estates. Pima County has our neighborhood scheduled for road repaving sometime during Fiscal Year 2027.

Nearly all roads within the HOA are included in the county’s plans. The exceptions are Chula Vista Road and Camino Cielo, which were already repaved in FY2025 and FY2023.

What kind of road work is planned?

The planned treatment is called a mill and thick overlay.

In simple terms, crews will grind off the top 2 inches of old, damaged pavement and replace it with a fresh 2-inch layer of asphalt.

This process is designed to repair worn pavement, surface cracks and bumps while keeping the roadway at approximately its current height.

When will repaving begin?

A specific construction date has not yet been set.

The project is scheduled for sometime during Pima County’s Fiscal Year 2027, which ends June 30, 2027. Once Pima County selects a contractor, we should have a clearer timeline for when work will begin.

Residents will receive additional information as it becomes available and notice before construction starts.
