Clear Out the Clutter: Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Coming Up May 10

Spring cleaning isn’t just for closets—safely get rid of your old paint, batteries, electronics, and even sensitive documents at Tucson’s next Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event on Saturday, May 10 from 8a - 12p at Jacobs Park (3300 N. Fairview Ave).

What You Can Bring:

  • Automotive fluids (in disposable containers)

  • Engine oil filters

  • Rechargeable, button, and lithium batteries (separate by type)

  • Auto batteries

  • Paint (no dried paint), solvents

  • Cleaning supplies, pesticides, pool chemicals

  • Cooking oil (strained, in plastic)

  • Mercury items, fluorescent bulbs

  • Electronic waste (laptops, phones, game controllers, speakers, etc.)

  • Printer cartridges

  • Items labeled: acid, flammable, toxic, danger, warning, etc.

  • Up to 3 boxes of documents for shredding

What’s NOT Accepted:

  • Business/commercial waste

  • Televisions or CRT monitors

  • Explosives, ammunition

  • Medical waste (sharps, syringes, meds)

  • Dried paint or empty paint cans

  • Alkaline batteries (just toss those)

Cost:

  • $10 for residents in unincorporated Pima County (that’s us!)
